Surfer’s Retreat

SERVICES: Architecture, Interiors

LOCATION: Seattle - Lawtonwood, WA

PROJECT SCOPE

In the heart of Lawtonwood, a historic 1930s home once tied to the area’s original nursery has been carefully restored. What was once overtaken by time and nature is now a 1,000 SF home that bridges past and present — featuring salvaged old-growth materials, a red-painted original farm door, and siding made of old-growth cedar shakes, each individually hand-dipped in a semi-black transparent stain. With a seamless flow from the dining room to a large open deck, the home invites the outdoors in, creating space meant to be shared. A quiet revival, rooted in history.
